Have you ever seen a baby learn to walk? She wobbles up knowing full well she will fall.
She doesn’t care about looking like a fool, failing over and over, or rolling on her side belly up.
She doesn’t ask for the secret formula to go from sitting to standing. She doesn’t line up everything to make sure it all goes perfectly.
The endeavor is messy, noisy, sloppy, spirited and stubborn. She pushes up and goes, falls down, gets up again and again and again until her first steps are taken.
She wants to get from here to there. She doesn’t become fixated on how – she becomes fixated with wanting to get from here to there.
She can’t even see it. But think about it: today, the coffee table. Tomorrow, the kitchen counter.
By this I mean you have no way of knowing just how far you will go. For now it just matters that you begin.
Be a baby.
